Empathy https://youtu.be/3uJWp0b_UU0 video Today a dam was blown in Ukraine, Europe's largest nuclear power station stressed, great number of villages destroyed, political tensions increasing worldwide, and on a Providence, Rhode Island rooftop, there's a good chance that a small young bird succumbed to injuries and illness unknown, possibly avian flu. Yesterday we were witness to the last, and in such small events the world is born and borne the weight of tragedy. In Ukraine, an image of a beaver wandering a street; in Providence, calls, perhaps of no use at all, to State agencies asking for examination and help, the bird perhaps a vector, there was no call-back. The earth continues lurching towards the armageddon of the biome, what we have we are losing with enormous impetus. I cried on the rooftop for no purpose at all, live for no purpose at all, the best intentions not withstanding. The bird, the town the state, the wars, the planet, the galaxy, all lurch, all topple in whatever scale. All of us bear witness to all of us, all lurch; the poor poor bird, up there struggling, the sky, the earth, Aldebaran, whatever. - Alan Sondheim, 5-/23 _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] https://lists.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
