i am also very fond of tarkowsky's works! :-)
AFAIK Solaris was the only Tarkowsky´s film based in the well known
Stanislaw Lem novel with the same name.
as for Stalker, the credits are for Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, "Roadside
Picnic".
