Arduino Basic & Bluetooth Workshop: DIY draadloze en interactieve
projecten maken, voor ontwerpers en kunstenaars
Arduino is een klein 'open-source' computer platform dat zeer bruikbaar
is voor kunstenaars en ontwerpers die interactieve objecten en
installaties willen maken. Arduino gebruikt de input van schakelaars en
sensoren om daarmee licht, motoren of andere output aan te sturen. In
deze workshop leer je om te werken met gewone- en met draadloze
Bluetooth Arduino's.
WORKSHOP AANPAK
We bieden een 5-daagse Arduino workshop aan. Afhankelijk van je ervaring
kun je ook alleen de eerste twee- of de laatste drie dagen volgen. We
starten met een 2-daagse introductie (11 | 12 juni), voor degenen die
nog (bijna) niet met Arduino hebben gewerkt. Je krijgt uitleg over de
USB Arduino, de lay-out van het board, aansluiten van hardware en de
basis van het programmeren.
In de daaropvolgende dagen (13 | 14 | 15 juni) gaan we in op gevorderde
toepassingen, zoals de draadloze Bluetooth Arduino's en de mogelijkheden
om te werken met PureData. In deze drie dagen werk je aan je eigen
draadloze Arduino prototype.
DOELGROEP
Kunstenaars, product ontwerpers, studenten, computer wetenschappers,
hardware hackers, nerds, dansers, iedereen is welkom. Enige technische
affiniteit is nodig. Kennis van programmeren en elektronica, zoals
solderen en java, is handig maar is niet noodzakelijk. We adviseren je
om vooraf de Arduino website te bekijken en om de Arduino software te
downloaden.
TRAINERS
De eerste drie dagen begeleid Ubi de Feo (It) de workshop. Massimo Banzi
(It), de ontwerper van Arduino, is de laatste twee dagen aanwezig.

Arduino Basic & Bluetooth Workshop: DIY wireless interactive networking
for artists and designers
Arduino is an affordable computing platform which is particularly useful
for designers and artists who want to build physical interactive
projects. Arduino takes input from a variety of switches or sensors, and
can control a variety of lights, motors, and other outputs. In this
workshop you will learn how to work with the basic usb Arduino and with
the wireless Bluetooth Arduino.
WORKSHOP APPROACH
We offer a 5-day workshop. Depending on your experience you can also
register only for the first two, or only for the last three days.
We start with a 2-day introduction to Arduino (11 | 12 June), for those
who haven't worked with Arduino's before. We will work on the basic USB
Arduino, the lay-out of the board, how to connect hardware and some
basic programming skills.
In the following days (13 | 14 | 15 June) we will deal with more
advanced versions and uses, including Bluetooth Arduino's and the
programming possibilities with Pure Data. In these three days you will
work on your own small prototype of a wireless Arduino application.
TARGET GROUP
Art students, product designers, computer scientists, hardware hackers,
nerds, dancers - everyone is welcome. However, note that some technical
affinity is required. Some experience in programming and electronics
will come in useful, specifically in soldering and java, but is not
necessary. We advise you to download the Arduino software and have a
look at the Arduino website before.
TRAINERS
Ubi de Feo (It) will lead the first days of the workshop. Massimo Banzi
(It), who invented Arduino, is present during the last two days.
