Have you been trying to build your own website but find it confusing? Heard
about blogs and on-line social networking but don't know where to start? Do you
want to make a website with tools that make it easy to create and host your
website for free?
On this course you will learn the fundamentals of blogging, posting photos,
tagging your bookmarks and creating a podcast.
The course will cover in detail how to:
*create a blog using www.blogger.com
*create an on-line gallery using Flickr.com
*add comments to your own site or friends sites
*tag your bookmarks in del.icio.us and magnolia
*tag images in Flickr
*make rss and xml feeds
*create a podcast using www.odeo.com
*build an audioscrobbler profile of your musical tastes that you listen to via last.fm
*search blogs
*add videos to your blog using www.youtube.com
*add google analytics code to track your sites
*use custom templates to take your blogs further
Each student has their own workstation for the practical parts of the course
and can discuss any specific areas of interest they may have towards the end of
the day with the tutor.
