RECOMBINING TERRITORIES 2008
Itinerant series of discussions focusing works and projects by young artists
using electronic and digital media. The project focuses two aspects: 1)
education, by discussing young artists' projects underway and 2) decentralized
dissemination of new media knowledge / production covering cities in different
regions of Brazil. In this respect, it aims to build networks among
professionals and institutions interested in changes prompted by the impact of
technology in the contemporary world. The project is produced by the Sergio
Motta Institute through its main cultural initative , the Sergio Motta Art and
Technology Award .
Format_
Two-day sessions in each of the cities, with discussions between guest artists
and critics and presentations of the work of selected artists. Participation is
open to selected artists (at most 20) and anybody interested in following the
discussions and presentations. The project also has a blog used as a privileged
space for exchanging and disseminating ideas.
