I also feel pretty desperate about these times.  And then I remind  
myself, there was a time when women could not vote, African Americans  
sat at the back of the bus, Nelson Mandela was isolated in jail and  
the Berlin wall split a city into two (the list can go on).  All of  
these things seemed impossible to overcome and very dark, but change  
happened because people put their minds together.  I guess that's my  
hope for 2009.
