I would support a boycott of Israeli institutions and corporations where they do not explicitly reject their governments policies towards Palestinians and Palestine. Where individuals and organisations within Israel act to support Palestine then they deserve all our support.
There are a diversity of people running US media, as seen in media-owners such as Bloomberg, Murdoch and Turner. I do not see conspiracies around every corner and agree with you that some people like easy targets. I would hope you would see that many people (hopefully myself included) have a nuanced understanding of the situation in Israel and yet can still be furious about what the Israeli government does.
