Let's face it, discussing environmental issues is a trend! I don't know how many Arts Festivals have addressed the topic this year. Urgency or hype I'm not sure. But there is a talk at Whitechapel Gallery entitled: Big Ideas: TJ Demos: The Greenhouse Effect. Contemporary Art and Ecology, that could be interesting. I also saw Spivak is talking today, but is sold out. This other talk is on Thursday 14 May, 7pm.
Zilkha Auditorium TJ Demos, critic, writer and lecturer, Department of History of Art, University College London, asks what are the achievements, challenges and contradictions of contemporary art’s dealings with the current ecological crisis? Demos considers the politics, ethics and aesthetics of global warming and disastrous climate change in the context of current artistic practices. http://www.whitechapelgallery.org/ -- Olga http://www.ungravitational.net http://virtualfirefly.wordpress.com _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
