>Erika: >Yes, >The Potential of Objects + signifier and signified Sort of.. But instead of passing everything through the lense of linguistics I find more exciting to give the possible bags full reality, full virtuality if you want, and take them as parallel entities haunting the present. Rather than working with symbols I like working with bodies, haunted by other bodies. Perhaps the relation of signifier and signified is more rigid and hierarchical. One points to the other, one [signifier] is meant to 'represent' the other [signified], which is considered the real one. Maybe thinking of hybrid objects as part actual part virtual, giving the virtual objects the same reality, opens up this structure to something more inspiring.
Anyway, just sketching some ideas here... all very raw... (raw in my brain, I know many people have written on this ;)) In Berlin now, preparing the Breakthrough, I'll see if we can work out something with hybrid objects... -- Olga http://www.ungravitational.net http://virtualfirefly.wordpress.com _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
