Hi Marc, My email system is webmail and due to the amount of spam which comes through it I've set it to display only plain text. So your first "Green Man at the Dark Mountain..." came to me as just a matrix of seemingly random binary digits and I had to wonder 'what on earth' I was supposed to do to find its relation to the green man.
h0w3v3r, the webmail system also provides links to each sub system of content. So I click 'MULTIPART/alternative' and then 'text/html' and lo and behold! The green man! Hurray! But in interesting shades of grey. So from this interaction and unveiling, I actually prefer this first piece to the second image which is more sensibly in shades of green, but loses out to the experience of the first. Sorry for the slightly long-winded explanation, but I thought it might be something to consider in a net-art piece. I don't suppose I need to spell out the (is it?) meta (physical?) (narrative?) (errm, brain giving up now with words). Cheers! James.
