This is the exhibition plan that we devised at the co-curation event

Exhibition plan for DIWO at the Dark Mountain

ALL SOUND: Sound compiled and played across 4 speakers - surround
sound.
1. I want to be Civilised - mail thread (perhaps with afternoon tea
service)
- full colour transcription of thread (english and french)
- enlarged, hand painted on the wall
- tea served from a plinth near the painting.
2. All digital IMAGES: slide show of all images submitted
- clustered by theme or contributor
- slideshow on flatscreen monitor
On a low square plinth (approx 15 inches high)
3. All MOVIES: compilation of all movies submitted
- DVD on Television
- with bean bags for visitors
4. All NETART: compilation of all netart (including Rene's Mix and
Visitorsstudio mixes)
- projected on wall from a projector situated on the low plinth
- looped within Firefox browser (with title bar showing), using
frames and metarefresh tags (sequence to be created).

Wall display of selected printed images (both those sent by email
and by snailmail)
7a. images chosen for high levels of remix such as 'signed head' and
'green man' series
7b. images that relate to the technophagia theme- industrial scale
production, redundant and recycled technologies
8. Dot matrix printer - installed on a high shelf at opening of the
show it will be set to print all All TEXTS from DIWO emails. The
print paper will cascade onto the floor and keep going till it
reaches the end of the compiled texts.
9. Documentation of performance (see 12.)

- on TV with beanbags
10. Spiral Jetty thread- nature and industrial processes collide.
Images and printed texts - with watercolour sent snailmail by bruce
conkle
11. Introduction and Credits to be written by HTTP Gallery crew
12. The Controversy, scripted by Dougald, drawing on selected,
heated contributions from the early stages of 'DIWO at the Dark
Mountain' and performed by exhibition visitors. (any NB volunteers?)
- this will take place at 8pm around the kitchen table at
Furtherfield (in the studio behind the gallery)
- live performance. Documented on Video for use in the gallery and
excerpts displayed online.
UNSOLVED problems!
- How to represent the works that didn't turn up ( Missing In
Action) due to the postal strike.
- Where does the Uncivilisation Manifesto go?
