AV Festival 10 the biennial international festival of electronic arts returns from 5-14 March 2010. This year the curatorial theme is energy, explored as a universal force that connects, transforms and renews life. The Festival includes 24 exhibitions, 20 performances, 10 screenings, 14 talks, 3 symposia, club nights, artist residencies and the Feral Trade Café by artist Kate Rich.
The Festival Symposia and Talks include:
Recycled Film Symposium including - Rick Prelinger (Prelinger Archives), Craig Baldwin (Other Cinema), Kenneth Goldsmith (UbuWeb), Iain Sinclair (filmmaker/writer). Planetary Breakdown: Autonomous Infrastructures for a Sustainable Future including - Malcolm Miles, Lise Autogena, HeHe, Bruce Gilchrist and Jo Joelson, Kate Rich Commissioning and Collecting Variable Media including - Benjamin Weil, Laura Sillars, Lisa Panting, Lois Keidan, Graham Harwood Feral Trade Cafe: Cocktail Hour Talks include: Kate Rich (Feral Trade), Ruth Catlow (Furtherfield.org), Dominic Smith (Polytechnic), James Kennard (urban hunter), Avery Gordon (Professor of Sociology, University of California), Wietske Maas (Urbanibalism).
Lecture by artist and activist: Gustav Metzger
