Hi Liz & students at Writtle, Hi LucyM,
Can I suggest smaller files as altrnative sizes for downloading? http://www.furtherfield.org/inspiwrit/?p=2041 This is a well-produced movie, I like the mixing of animation - the drawers opening and closing. Even though this is already an accomplished piece of work, I feel that it needs a bit more edge, it can go further to communicate your ideas regarding what you mentioned on the blog. For instance, imagine if you got rid of the smooth soundtrack and replaced it with sounds, such as the scraping of the face, rubbing of facepack onto cheeks and more... Also, have look a read of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, or at least look it up on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Picture_of_Dorian_Gray Don't bother with the latest film called Dorian, - have a look on Youtube to view a snippet of an earlier version which I think is much better. Picture of Dorian Gray 1945 Original Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNIR-dqoJk8 Dollyoko http://dollyoko.thing.net/ Female Icons http://www.geuzen.org/female_icons/ I have already posted this one by Jess Loseby, but it also fits here as well http://www.d-t-p.tv/work/jloseby.htm and these 2: Jean Finlay http://www.jeaniefinlay.com/wordpress/?cat=5 Homemaker. Interview with Jean Finlay. http://www.furtherfield.org/displayreview.php?review_id=213 Kathy Acker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_and_Guts_in_High_School I just wanted to highight Kathy's method for writing her book 'Blood and Guts in High School'. Which is one of my favourite books of hers... "In Blood and Guts in High School, Kathy Acker uses the technique of collage. She inserts letters, poems, drama scenes, dream visions and drawings. This creates a challenging text with a disturbed linearity. Acker freely admitted to using plagiarism in her work." Adding different elements to coommunicate your idea can help greatly in creating an enriching piece... Just thought I'd throw a net art piece in also by Shu lea Cheang Brandon http://brandon.guggenheim.org/bigdoll/ wishing you well. marc _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
