<Wish I could be there> Likewise!
There was a great show by the Vasulkas a few years back at the ICA which really brought home to me the extent of their originality & the scale & depth of their contribution. I think sometimes people making work that, whilst it clearly prefigures or anticipates work now being done but whose main arena pre-dated the net, get somewhat overlooked (until recently this has also been the case with a lot of wonderful avant-garde film, but I think, hope, things are changing) We put some clips of their work up on DVblog in 2008: http://dvblog.org/?p=1073 hope the talk goes well michael --- On Mon, 2/22/10, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > From: [email protected] <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [NetBehaviour] Digital Arts Pioneers - Steina and Woody Vasulka, > Bournemouth University, 24th Feb, 13.15 - 14.45 > To: [email protected] > Date: Monday, February 22, 2010, 5:39 PM > Wish I could be there Helen! > > Original Message: > ----------------- > From: Helen Sloan [email protected] > Date: Mon, 22 Feb 2010 10:59:22 +0000 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [NetBehaviour] Digital Arts Pioneers - Steina and > Woody > Vasulka,Bournemouth University, 24th Feb, 13.15 - 14.45 > > > So...
