IMMERSED: SYDNEY-SHANGHAI-LONDON

You can hear immersive sound work by Mukul in TEN THOUSAND WAVES, a new 
9-screen installation by Isaac Julien, and in a revival of Christopher 
Wheeldon's ballet ELECTRIC COUNTERPOINT for the Royal Ballet.

Electric Counterpoint features music by Bach and Reich, bridged by an 
immersive sound passage by Mukul. For the first section of the work 
(solos to Bach), Mukul interviewed the principal dancers of the Royal 
Ballet and arranged their words to the music. The work features large 
scale projected works by the Ballet Boyz.

Ten Thousand Waves is a 9-screen, 9-point surround sound installation 
conceived by Isaac Julien and featuring Maggie Cheung, Zhao Tao, and 
Yang Fudong. Music is by Maria de Alvear, Jah Wobble/Chinese Dub 
Orchestra, and Mukul. The work weaves together stories from China’s 
ancient and recent past and present, focussing on themes of migration 
and unfinished journeys.
