Hello fellow queers this is a Call for participants - please pass this on to other queer artists. Submissions must be received by October 1. Darin and I really hope you’ll participate in this project! please RSVP me if you plan to participate so Darin knows to anticipate your package. Darin Klein & Suzanne Wright Present 21st Century Queer Artists Identify Themselves #2 The follow-up to the wildly successful first issue, this is a ‘zine by and about queer artists living and working in the 21st Century. A resource for sharing information and educating ourselves and our peers. A guide to identifying, contacting and inspiring each other. Not a visual artist? Queer artists work in many ways, and all are welcome – we're sure you can think of a way to contribute! This issue limited to 60 contributors. Anything over 60 will be included in issue #3. If you contributed to issue #1, do it again. We just ask that you RECRUIT one new artist that wasn’t in issue #1. We know they’re out there… and we want them!!! How to participate: Make 100 standard 8 1/2 x 11 copies (black ‘n white or color, single-sided or double-sided) of text(s) and/or image(s) documenting or representing your work. Be creative with paper colors and styles. Limit one double-sided page per artist. MANDATORY: Your name must be somewhere on the work. It would also be good to include your contact info, website, myspace, etc. – this should function as a resource for contacting each other. We need everything by October 1! Mail to: Darin Klein 1529 1/2 Rosalia Road Los Angeles, CA 90027 (Or drop off – it’s OK to leave packages under the gate) Your work is done! We’ll collate and staple it all together. The result will be 100 ‘zines including all the submissions, released to the public on October 22 at Baer Ridgway gallery in San Francisco. The release coincides with Darin’s retrospective exhibition of all the books and ‘zines he’s ever produced! You will receive one copy, be sure you include your mailing address.
