In January 2010, we helped to celebrate Art’s Birthday
<http://www.artsbirthday.net/> with a party in UpStage
<http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?p=742>. This year, since we were already
discussing when would be a good time to restage some of the performances
from the 101010 UpStage Festival
<http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?page_id=680>, we’ve decided to hold “101010
again” in conjunction with Art’s Birthday, 16-17 January 2011.
There will be three shows on Sunday 16 January: two performances of
/Strings Attached 2: Who's driving this thing?/
<http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?page_id=1019#strings> by by Cindi L’Abbe
and performers (USA/Korea); and one performance of /MASS-MESS
<http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?page_id=1043#mass-mess> /by Katarina DJ.
Urosevic & Jelena Lalic, Serbia. There will be live links to the stages
from the UpStage web site <http://upstage.org.nz/> 15 minutes before
show times, which are:
* 2am Europe (10am Korean time): /Strings Attached 2: Who's driving
this thing?/ (find your local time here
<http://http//tinyurl.com/3yjffjn>)
* 1pm Europe (9pm Korean time):/Strings Attached 2: Who's driving
this thing? /(find your local time here <http://tinyurl.com/3xza5z9>)
* 7pm Europe: /MASS-MESS /(find your local time here
<http://tinyurl.com/3y7te4l>)
We’re very much looking forward to /Strings Attached 2/
<http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?page_id=1019#strings>, as it was the one
show from 101010 that didn’t get to perform due to an annoying
combination of different technical problems. An experiment in
audience-performer communication, /Strings Attached 2/ invites real-time
feedback from the audience as triggers for the choreography. This is
another stage of the performance /Strings Attached
<http://dilettantedance.blogspot.com/2010/05/strings-attached-experiment-in.html>/
which Cindi began in August 2009.
/MASS-MESS <http://upstage.org.nz/blog/?page_id=1043#mass-mess> /is by
veteran UpStage artists Katarina DJ. Urosevic & Jelena Lalic (Serbia),
and explores the meaningless complexity of the images and visual symbols
that saturate contemporary life. Sunday's performance will be given to
an audience at KC Grad <http://www.gradbeograd.eu/programi.php?lang=sr>
in Belgrade as well as online.
Visit the Art's Birthday web site <http://www.artsbirthday.net/> to find
out about other events happening online and locally.
hope to see you at the shows,
helen : )
