Tweet from @smithalistair said the following
"Weird. So, I called up ACE to express my deep concerns re News Int
partnership. Now had a call back saying it was all a mistake, there
is...... no partnership and will be no partnership with News
International. Somebody jumped the gun. Although clearly there must have
been talks"

News International partnership offers media coverage to arts organisations

Date: 26 January 2011
Region: Arts Council England

In a partnership with the Arts Council, News International are offering
arts organisations the opportunity to gain profile across their titles.

Incorporating The Sun, and The Times/The Sunday Times newspaper groups
together for the very first time, this opportunity will help arts
organisations from across the country to reach out to new audiences. The
Sun has a print readership of over 7 million, The Sunday Times and The
Times over 3 million and 1.5 million respectively, all with a large online
audience alongside this.

The partnership will include editorial content to help readers gain more
of an understanding about a variety of artforms, as well as exclusive
offers and promotions.

We are now looking for arts organisations who would like to take advantage
of this opportunity. Currently, there are two principal avenues for this:

exclusive added-value/experiential opportunities such as backstage tours;
fun, family-friendly master classes; celebrity Q&As in conjunction with
performances, etc.
promotions on events suitable for the campaign's target audiences ('Dinner
and a Show' and 'Family and Community Focused', as defined by the Arts
Council's audience insight segmentation). Promotions can cover a wide
variety of areas, from buy one get one free ticket deals to complimentary
cups of coffee. The Sun's £9.50 offer, currently applied to a range of
leisure opportunities is identified as a good platform for promotions, as
it slots in with an existing headline offer. Where possible, organisations
are encouraged to source a promotion revolving around the £9.50 price
point if they wish to receive coverage in The Sun.
If you are interested in being part of this partnership, which will run
until the end of April, please [email protected] by
Friday 28 January with details of your promotion or special event.
