Hi Simon
isn't it vexing when things like that occur!

At my most depressed I feel artists are at the very bottom of the food-chain,
then I'm lifted & delighted by curators who take time and care, and work with
thought and generosity.
(My recent experience with The Harris/Folly was one such pleasure)

The most irritating thing is the sheer lack of courtesy and a sense of
proportion demonstrated by those who can't even be bothered to write a short e
mail when, after all, if there were no artworks, there'd be no shows...

I'm glad to see that a-n seem to be taking up a more general campaigning role -
perhaps there's a case for artists pressing for a code of conduct for
submissions and feedback. When I worked in the theatre in the 80s there was a
campaign within Equity, the actor's union, for an end to "cattle market" type
auditions, which had some impact then...

best wishes
michael

Why these people at http://www.isisarts.org.uk/index2.html and many others are
so anxious to get my proposal in and then can not be bothered to give any
feedback or even respond to my email requesting information?
