Beautiful Landscapes!

the webpages and the audiovisuals.

A strange mashup of formal art-historical aesthetics with commercial
internet culture. ie the visualisation also features text that names
users, their machines, their service providers and incorporates google
maps- like true street art- the art sits alongside and incorporates the
digital equivalent of bill-boards, shop walls.

Dear All
I had a visualising Wi-Fi network project and converted Wi-Fi
identifier codes to web colours(http://fireant.itaiwan.net/).
The colours were shaped with grids like Josef Albers's and Michael Judd's works.
Their artworks explores the structures and relations between colours
via the colour grids.
Inspired by them, the colourful grids of Wi-Fi networks constructs the
metaphorical structures and connections with colours among them.
With the interconnected grids and the interaction of colours, the
independent Wi-Fi hotspots are integrated in the conceptually urban
landscape.
Colour is the active constructor not the representation in this project.

Like architect and musician Iannis Xenakis, I attempted to start the
second conversion from visual Wi-Fi landscapes to acoustic Wi-Fi
music.
The colour codes were converted to MIDI scores and they created the
special atmosphere of wirelessness and space.
My first single is available in Amazon
(http://www.amazon.com/London-Wi-Fi-Landscape/dp/B004YXQI1E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1305239235&sr=8-2)
and iTunes
(http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/london-wi-fi-landscape-ep/id435205828)
and I also uploaded my experimental works to
Youtube(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jziXJy_hO9k).

Hope you enjoy them.

Kind Regards,
Jung-Hua Liu
