HI all, I noticed this on the Dorkbot mailing list, and thought others onn here may be interested - it's in the UK I know...
wishing all well. marc ---------------> Dear Dorkbotters Brighton's having its first Maker Faire on 3 September - I already know a few of you are exhibiting there. You may find me during the day around Jane Bom-Bane's stall. I'll be there with Ventricle - my creepy 1960s handbag that moves like a human heart. AND In the evening, I'm hosting what I hope will be the perfect soir?e for the Maker Faire crowd. It's an evening of live music, played by some of the finest maker musicians. Thomas Truax is headlining (woo hoo!). We also have Nick Pynn with his amazing cocolele, Jane Bom-Bane with her harmonium and mechanical hats; a playalong with the Sawchestra (who will be dishing out instruments on the night) and a set from Spacedog (my band of humans and robots). Stay tuned for news of some other extraordinary makers who may be showcasing their contraptions on the night. More on the Maker Faire here: http://www.makerfairebrighton.com/ And on the evening party - at the Brunswick Theatre (a short bus ride or brisk 20 minute walk from the Maker Faire): http://www.sarahangliss.com/gigs/play The Maker Faire is free. The music night costs ?7 but is free to any Brighton Maker Faire exhibitors and crew. It should be a lovely weekend. I hope to see some of you there!
