Dear Netbehaviourists, Next Wednesday (2nd Nov), we are lucky enough to have Richard Stallman speaking on A Free Digital Society. Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Movement and initial developer of the GNU operating system, explores our digital soceity, looking into how "inclusivity" online is shaped and why without a free, fair and just digital world, this process is not necessarily a good thing. If we are workng towards creating a more inclusive online society, it needs to be without the burden of unfair principles, that are founded on mere "practical convenience". However, if we also judge in terms of human rights, whether digital inclusion is good or bad depends on what kind of digital world we are to be included in. If we wish to work towards digital inclusion as a goal, it must ensure it is the good kind. But what is that good kind of digital world? Richard Stallman explains.
