In an email I can't find there was a link which took me to a web page I
can't remember where there was a link which took me to

http://learnpythonthehardway.org/

But I don't really feel like learning Python, but as it happens, that
book has been 'ported' to other languages too:

http://learncodethehardway.org/

I have a good knowledge of C so if anyone here decides that C is the
language they wish to learn I'll be happy to help.

I used to write C++ also, but after reading some anti C++ propaganda
[ http://yosefk.com/c++fqa/defective.html ] I concluded it wasn't just
me being thick but in fact the language is a (vast) nightmare as well.

Since confining myself to C (aside from BASH and PHP) I've felt that
I'm not learning so much now. I've learnt somewhere approaching 99% of
the language (by my reckoning).

I need to learn more solutions to problems. I consider the
number of solutions I know to be fairly limited. When to use a list,
when to use a queue, when to use an array, etc.

...

Anyway, I'm going to stretch myself a bit I'm going to
http://ruby.learncodethehardway.org/

Hopefully I'll get further than my poor efforts at learning Lisp.
