Michael;

Sometimes a lack of formal technique is better, as it lets you be more
original.
It makes me wonder with so much art available on-line, how this will impact
artists trying to find their own signature in the crowd. Slides were more than
enough to contaminate minds.

  Manik, Martha , Joel
  thank you for the kind and encouraging responses. Ruth Catlow has also been
hugely encouraging offline too.
  I *do* feel like I have something to say - I'm just very very nervous about
my lack of formal technique...
  The Beckett quote as a title - "Fail Better" - was an attempt to hedge my
bets :)
  warmest wishes

  michael

  Your drawings are like spring.From drawing,trough photography...music and
video...we could see artist who's thought is clever and direct.Like your
line,full of light.

    Dear Michael--

    I really like these. I am especially interested in the variety in how
finished they are. Quirky, imaginative, primitive at times, and actually made
my fingers itch, though my drawings are not charming as yours are. This is an
obsession to be fed, I think.

    Best,
    Martha

      I don't honestly know how I expect people to react. I'm pretty obsessed
at the moment...
      I know that drawing is something I really want to keep doing.

      warm wishes

      Hi Michael;

      I like the drawings being held in front of the scene, and the page torn
from the pad.
