actually Alan puts me in mind of Beckett, not because of any stylistic
similarities ( although, God knows, he's made so much and such
diverse work
some of it probably calls Beckett to mind) but because there is often
such
a rich vein of humour, even in the darkest of his work and because folk
often miss that...
