Royal Pavilion & Museums (RPM) is seeking to commission a digital artist
in residence for Brighton Museum & Art Gallery (BMAG) to celebrate the
opening of the new World Stories gallery. World Stories, opening in
June 2012, is an innovative reinterpretation and redisplay of Brighton
Museum's world class ethnographic collections. It is part of the
Cultural Olympiad and the South East's flagship museum project for the
London 2012 Festival. The content and interpretation of the new space
has been informed by over 200 young people, who worked in collaboration
with museum staff on its development. The residency has been scheduled
to coincide with the opening weekend of the London Games in July.
The final piece of work from the artist will be a digital installation
in the empty temporary exhibition galleries on the first floor.
