Also hoping - perhaps over optimistic this morning(??!!) - that it is ok, (given a few people on this list have been to, presented and chatted in art & chat nights) to point out/remind that the next one is on the 27th. If you fancy presenting stuff, just book yourself in via http://digihub.org.uk/art_chat_monthly Art & chat are un-curated, open mic kind of nights for artists. People present and talk about stuff in a friendly, relaxed yet critical manner. Perhaps a bit like on this list.. ;) While physically the evenings are based in Brighton's Caroline of Brunswick pub, people do present and chat from other locations via google hangouts*. To keep the relaxed, buttoned down approach, we are not entirely time restricted. Hence nights usually begin at around 17.30 and end at around 21.30..(Last one ended at around 22.30 with David Bovil's talk re democracyofthings.org & festival of mint, part of which was done at Furtherfield come to think of it..) Aharon xx * We, Phil Jones & I, are aware of the issues regarding google hangout - and skype - usage, on cultural, social and perhaps more critical, artistic levels. Therefore we hope the usage is temporary and strategic as we aim to begin a process of building webrtc & p2p based tool with art and artists online in mind. Currently at very early stages, hence nothing coherent or otherwise, online. However, if this sounds interesting - give me a shout!
