“Emily’s Video” compiles the reactions of random volunteers who replied
to an online call by Eva and Franco Mattes to watch “the worst video
ever.” The original video has been destroyed, only these second hand
experiences are proof of its existence.

Following in the footsteps of other reaction videos made for Youtube
phenomena like “Two Girls One Cup”, “Emily’s Video” prompts disbelief,
fear, anger, disgust, and nervous laughter. Willing participants hide
their eyes, lambaste the video’s maker, or simply walk away. While the
volunteers find watching difficult, we are rapt, awaiting the next
viewer’s response.
