Forty-five years since the momentous events of May 1968 that brought Paris to a standstill, what happened to one of the movement's key players, the Situationist International? The Spectacle of Disintegration is McKenzie Wark's follow-up to his colourful history The Beach Beneath the Street. It traces the group's trajectory after their disbandment following that historical watershed. With special guests, Wark recalls the hidden journeys taken by the group in their failed attempt to leave the 20th century and plots an exit from the 21st.
