By artist/activist Joseph DeLappe in May of 2013. Project 929: Mapping the Solar, is a 460 mile bicycle ride to drag a piece of chalk to physically and symbolically draw a line around an area that would be large enough to create the worlds largest solar farm - one that could provide enough energy for the entire United States.
“If a concentrated solar power system was built that was a hundred mile by hundred mile square in size out in the Southwest (United States), which has some of the best solar resources in the entire world, or you covered 1 percent of the country’s land with photovoltaics, either strategy would be more than enough to meet the country’s entire energy demand. The sky really is the limit.” - Cliff Chen, The Union of Concerned Scientists http://www.project929.com/ _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
