I wrote in 2005 that after 2998, when printers no linger made noticeable
dither patterns and when Chuck Close went to Nash Editions and realized he
hated digital processes, the pixel, or voxel became a cultural artifact, and
as such an aesthetic choice rather than technical necessity.
