   Description

A possible commission for a researcher with expertise in the use of digital media in live performance. This is a speculative offer. Blank Productions aims to develop a project supported by the Nesta Digital Research & Development Fund. The proposed research work will be dependent upon this funding.

We're wanting to explore the use of live streamed broadcasts as an intrinsic part of the artistic material of a production and to which an online audience would be invited/encouraged to respond in a way that feeds back into the world of the performance.

The key bits of research might be into the following areas:

. how audiences think about online interaction with a live production, what excites people to get involved, what might motivate them to comment and upload material,

. how audiences might differ in this respect between the UK and, for example, Norway (funding for the music commission for this production having come from Norway) or other places in Scandinavia/Europe . how a digital dimension such as this effects the way people relate to going to see a production in a live context . how the area being researched might be if value to other arts organisations and practitioners.

Our researcher must be 'actively engaged in postdoctoral research and/or of postdoctoral standing from a UK university or independent reasearch organisation that is accredited by the AHRC".

Please contact us if this might fit with your area of specialism.
