Economies of Art and Technology Collaboration
Symposium, Performance and Workshop
Waag Society, Amsterdam, 28 & 29 March 2014

Are you interested in what happens at the intersection of art and information technology? The arts are now being asked to look beyond traditional forms of public funding and make a case for their ‘value’. This event will critically interrogate this assumption and look at ways in which artists and technologists can develop successful collaborations.

Discuss, experience and co-create with leading artists, technologists and thought leaders during our ICT and Art Connect event: Economies of Art and Technology Collaboration: Politics, Ethics, Power and Propaganda.

Symposium program
With Gerfried Stocker (Ars Electronica), Matt Adams (Blast Theory), Mitch Altman (co-founder of the first Makerfaire), Harlan Levey (HBL projects) and more.

Performance
With Luciana Haill (Augmented consciousness) and Ivan Henriques & Raoul Frese (Symbiotic Machine).

Workshop
Networking, advice and the workshops "Soldering is Easy" and Bio Strike.

Friday, 28 March, 2014 - 15:00 to Saturday, 29 March, 2014 - 17:00

ICT & Art Connect sets out to bring together artists and technologists to explore new ways of working. Collaborative acts of co-creation, together with an open and multidisciplinary discussion, will foster the bringing together of art and technology. The initiative stems from the EU FP7 funded support action FET-Art, addressing the FET (Future Emerging Technologies) objective of the FP7 ICT Theme.
