I agree with a lot of this, and it's really sad, though it's been going on for years - the hollowing out of London as a place for investors and those despicable buy to let empire builders. I've never really found London very cool anyway, not sure what "cool" is, and it's all relative I suppose. He talks about how boring the bankers in Canary Wharf are, as if this isn't obvious! And he says that bankers are very good at making money, which is so naive, he ignores the handouts and bailouts, without which they wouldn't survive. They are money obsessed that's true. There is also a lot of truth in the boring bankers desperately wanting to be seen as cool, but he doesn't go far enough in his criticism.
