Hi, I'm confused by this; from where I am, I don't say anything such monolithic shifts or agreements about criticism; there seem to be wider and wider practices in all sorts of areas by all sorts of groups and individuals, nothing like this paradigmatic shifting etc.; I have no idea for example how DJ Spooky wd fit into this or for that matter V. Manuscript here in Providence, etc. I'm not sure why one's not embracing the myriad of possibilities of online and offline work, again instead of talking about the shift - where I'd ask, whose shift, what institutions, what class structures, what nationalities; meanwhile Bein Sports is designing as you probably know a vevezuela with an internal arduino that changes all the channels in a bar etc. to soccer (football) with one mighty blast somewhere between the real and virtual, etc. I do recognize that academia's turning more and more towards genre and canon and running around like that, but so what? For me, admittedly just working in vr and codework at the moment, the most interesting theories around are coming out of cosmology where issues of ontology etc. literally attempt to (re)create all the difference in the world, and these don't fit into this at all. It's time the master paradigms were eliminated; if we don't really eliminate these kinds of structures, we're going to turn into conspiracy theorists! (Half-serious here only, but the WMD is related to for example usa notions of freedom and laissez-faire droning) - Patrick, I love your thinking, I'm just confused, I just don't see it, maybe I'm the wrong generation (and btw I hate the idea of generations which end up crushing people under ageisms) - Alan
