Architexturez Networks Design-L V2 The Design-List version 1 began in the early 1990s under the direction of Howard Ray Lawrence and the Pennsylvania State University listserver. Over the next decade the list transformed from a USENET newsfeed and information exchange to largely online discussions. These running discourses ranged from a very wide range of interpretation of 'art and architecture,' a core mission of the list, to professional, political, education, philosophical, and other perspectives.
Ultimately the list fractured in 2004 and the discussion list was spun-off into Design-L version 2, to enable further exchange of ideas without the constraint, threat, and limitations of censorship. Both lists remain active.
