Hi Anthony (and all), Just for fun, here are the details… They gave me money to make any piece of net art I wanted without stipulation, so I made the next playdamage. I asked if they wanted me to put a dublicate version of it at a dedicated location, apart from the rest of the series, but they liked the idea of sponsoring a part of the ongoing project in context (and I liked that idea too). When I say “they,” it is just my friend Barry Jones.
So it’s just a one-time commission for that one page. They are not permanently sponsoring the whole project. Althought that would actually be awesome. $1000 per playdamage page. I would probably make a lot more pages. As is, to my knowledge it’s the only money I’ve ever made from playdamage, so that’s $1000 / 108 pages = $9.26 per page. Or $1000 / 14 years = $71.43 per year. That’s gross income, not net (I haven’t subtracted hosting and domain reservation fees). http://youtu.be/tFzQRJlD7qI?t=3m22s , curt Anthony Stephenson wrote: I've been diggin' these playdamage re-mixes for years, but I wonder whether the introduction of a commissioned status infringes upon your operational considerations? -- - *Anthony Stephenson* http://anthonystephenson.org/ > Subject: [NetBehaviour] reMIXmyRELIGION (playdamage #107) > Message-ID: > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii > > http://playdamage.org/107.html > > audio by Giorgio Moroder + Donna Summer > room photos by Jandek > words by Jerry Lee Lewis + Sam Phillips (via Dan Graham) > commissioned for the TERMINAL Award at Austin Peay State University > > best, > curt > > _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
