An exciting opportunity for artists working with photography to
participate in a residency exchange programme between *Stills*: Centre
for Photography, Edinburgh and *Fondazione Fotografia* *Modena*, Italy.
Continuing the collaboration initiated in 2010, the aim of AiR is to
sustain a dialogue between artists and photographers about the role and
potential of the photographic medium within specific locations and
contexts. Artists will be asked to undertake research and produce works
which engage with the urban or rural environment of the area in which
their residency occurs.
*Fondazione Fotografia***is an exhibition and training centre entirely
dedicated to photography and contemporary image.Through a wide range of
activities - ranging from the production of exhibitions and events in
the formation and management of important collections – it stands as a
privileged platform for dialogue and insight into the vital role that
line the images within our culture.
Artists will receive €1,000 to meet return travel, per diem, research
and production costs. Accommodation is provided as part of the residency.
