Hey Randall, it's an idea, not to be pedantic however but digital wasn't much
used in effects in those days, mainly analog. Electricity was the thing, not
the old binary code.
And to be exact I don't want to sound like Hendrix (except when I'm singing in
the shower) but rather I enjoy the challenge of making up music that is
original. It sure is a challenge, but hey, that's what makes it worthwhile.
I have used digital technologies and recording with sequencers but ultimately
found it dull, too much tapping at keyboards and looking at icons on a screen.
That's good for some people, not me. That kind of software based modelling is
far too easy, it smells of sampling. This is the drawback.
It is not in any way a problem to me. There is so much to do, see, touch smell
every day. To put that at a distance by jumping on the digital bandwagon seems
pointless.
This is the seductive nature of it - til we disappear.
Ok, where's the fucken drummer... my axe is burning a dull sheen in this
twilight.. My fingertips are hard like nails... Simon
Ps I love you nettists, you are on the case, in there with the cut n thrust.
And never forget, Garrett was strumming an analog keyboard when I first seed
him in the post punk days of yesteryear, tartan paintings stuck all over the
arnolfini, playing hopscotch with their beautiful minds.
