I think most people are wage slaves. Not you and I, but most americans and
most of the world. I am sure that PBS employees have everyone's best
interest at heart, but even if all the humans act admirably, companies are
required by law to make profits.

Why is making a profit such a bad thing? Well, that has to do with
interest. Interest rates enable capital holders to determine how much
pressure is put on the overall markets. At the level of each individual
business, many flourish, some get demolished.

This creates a situation where, despite how many good actors there are, the
entire market will promote bad actors, as the pressure of interest goes up.
The most vulnerable companies are required by law to do everything they
can, up to the limit of the law, to make a profit. This, in turn, creates a
situation where government is always having to limit/regulate the excesses
- the newest forms of victimization. This is why many libertarians are not
capitalists.

I am not saying that all companies are evil. I am saying that there are
systemic problems that causes many companies to undermine their own
customers. Class determines how much you personally are exposed to those
kinds of companies - they tend to prey on the weak.
