I agree with you yet what he says is sort of true. Many people feel
uncomfortable knowing their work is unethical yet they have to do it or
lose their job. So they put it out of their minds and get on with it. In
his case I imagine he knew full well his actions were illegal and he
probably didnt care as long as he got away with it and made a lot of money
and kudos from it. His bosses for sure gave him the go ahead. Also the IT
compliance systems would have picked up all the illegal activity anyway so
the banks are totally involved all through this. All around him are people
who dont question their employers and certainly they laugh at the idea of
ethics.
