[:lower:] is described as "lower-case alphabetic characters", but [:upper:] is described as "upper-case characters". I think this is the preferable direxion for this to go, since it makes it clearer that both [:lower:] and [:upper:] are subsets of [:alpha:] as "[filter] alphabetic characters" ‒ please consider the preceding patch.
