Hi I've never noticed a significant delay. I have ntpdate run first before ntpd as that gives a quicker time for ntpd to be in sync with the minimum of 3 sources from those in ntp.conf. >From /var/log/messages: ntpdate takes < 6 sec. ntpd takes < 2 sec This is from a server running NetBSD-6.1-stable i386.
