You might want to use -Y instead of -X...
Not sure if that is the problem here, though.

Another thing to check is if the ssh server allows X forwarding. Check
/etc/sshd.conf

That should probably be /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Check for X11Forwarding in 
there.
