This unfortunately did not help.  I also tried passing the same during 
installboot:
# installboot -v -f -o timeout=0 -o console=com0,speed=9600,ioaddr=0x3f8 -m 
amd64 /dev/rxbd3a /mnt/usr/mdec/boot

Still not getting any console output.

Any other thoughts?
