Hehe, true. I still dig CVS though. I tried switching to Mercurial and SVN
before and after a few merge nightmares I went back to CVS. I think it's a
bit underrated, but my guess is you have WAY more experience with it than
I do, and thus a lot more battle scars. I'm only using it for myself and
the true test of a VCS is working with others (.... merging THEIR code,
hehe).
What do you think folks will settle on for NetBSD? I've had these kind of
discussions at companies I've worked at and the only result was a huge
s**tfight between the devs yelling about how much their VCS rocked and how
crappy the other guys was and how badly it messed up this or that
merge/branch/release operation. Then in the final analysis I noticed that
the people in the back of the room who just shrugged and kept their mouths
shut were our superstar coders. The thought occurred to me that those guys
like coding better than arguing about their favorite VCS. There was an
important lesson in that for me, personally.
Still, it'd be interesting if any of the NetBSD gods discussed the future
of VCS for the project, but if it degenerates into a gorillas throwing
poo, don't blame me. :-)
