I'm trying to install 7.0.1-amd64 on a SunFire X4540. I put the netbsd.img on a USB thumb drive and booted it. I got to the installation menu and selected option 1. I saw some numbers get printed on the screen... there were a few, and then a left bracket and a couple more. After the second number inside the bracket, the system reboots...
