I have done a new test with NFS (between a Knoppix 7.2 client and a Ubuntu 16.04 server). The results are the same: 114Mbyte/sec for OpenBSD with firewall disabled (it is enabled by default) and 70Mbytes/sec with NetBSD. This is annoying while I don't understand what happens. I should still make some test with a firewall to see how the transfer speed will decrease. With the slight firewall (1 pass, two block rules) of OpenBSD, the speed was about 90Mbytes/sec. By the way, is the default kernel from Netbsd SMP aware? Is a firewall enabled by default on NetBSD (like in OpenBSD)? Would a current kernel be better?
