Finally I found the problem: our domain controllers had SMB Server Packet Signing enabled (which mount_smbfs(8) does not support): https://www.rootusers.com/configure-smb-signing-via-group-policy/ Disabling the signing finally let me mount the shares. -- Frank Wille
