I had to go back and redo: $ installboot NAME=boot_h1 /usr/mdec/bootxx_ffsv2 $ gpt biosboot -L boot_h1 wd0 in that order. biosboot wouldn't work until I did the installboot again. But now it boots. Thanks so much and sorry for the noise.
